Minimum Subarray Sum

Given an array of positive integers nums and a positive integer target, return the minimal length of a subarray whose sum is greater than or equal to target. If there is no such subarray, return 0 instead.

Input:

  • nums = [2, 3, 1, 2, 4, 3]
  • target = 7

Output:

  • Result = 2

Explanation:

We are looking for the smallest contiguous subarray with a sum greater than or equal to 7. The possible subarrays that meet this condition are:

  1. [2, 3, 1, 2] with a sum of 8 (length 4)
  2. [3, 1, 2, 4] with a sum of 10 (length 4)
  3. [2, 4, 3] with a sum of 9 (length 3)
  4. [4, 3] with a sum of 7 (length 2)

Among these, [4, 3] is the smallest subarray with a sum equal to or greater than 7. Its length is 2, which is the minimal length we are looking for.

If no such subarray exists:

If nums = [1, 1, 1, 1] and target = 5, there is no subarray with a sum of at least 5. Therefore, the output would be 0.
